# Mondikos

> Mondikos is the country-creation company, in formation. It originates, develops and establishes new states through peaceful, lawful and consensual arrangements with existing nations. Positioning: Building new countries by agreement.

## What it does
- Principal activity: originating and developing new states on its own account.
- Supplementary: a select number of engagements for founders, consortia, institutions and governments, beginning with an introduction or a recommendation, on written terms and held in confidence.
- Five capabilities: territory and treaty (constitutive treaties, long-term leases, acquisitions where appropriate); institutions and charters; identity and reputation; development and infrastructure; public services by contract.

## Standards (applied to every lease, acquisition and treaty)
I. Unencumbered territory: uninhabited, or its people have given free consent; no competing claims or material disputes.
II. Demonstrable title: the granting state holds clear legal title and lawful authority to agree.
III. A suitable counterpart: a United Nations member, stable and democratic.
IV. Constitutional legitimacy: compliance with the granting state's laws and procedures, including legislative approval and referendums where required.
V. Transparent consideration: every benefit accrues to the state on publicly disclosed terms; nothing to officials or intermediaries.
Where these standards cannot be met, Mondikos does not proceed.

## Distinctions
- Mondikos is neither a law firm nor a financial institution; it gives no legal or investment advice and holds no funds for others.
- Public services by contract confer no governing authority. Legislation, courts, policing and citizenship remain with the state, which may end the contract.
- No agreement guarantees statehood or recognition.
- The Startup States Society (https://www.startupstates.swiss) is a separate institute devoted to research and scholarship on peaceful state formation. Mondikos is its prospective commercial counterpart.
